Amazon.com has announced a release date for Resident Evil 5, the latest in Capcom’s popular survival horror series, . Resident Evil 5 has us once again suiting up as Chris Redfield, the protagonist from Resident Evil 1 and Code Veronica. Taking place in Africa, RE5 marks the first entry in the series that will feature a cooperative story mode, as well as a revamped cover and dodge system, amongst other innovations.

Despite recent rumors that RE5 could be out as early as November, it has been tentatively dated for March 10, 2009, available for the PS3 and XBox 360. Expect more information this week, following the release of a new trailer on the 31.
